DSSF questions

So I have been wanting a Busse for a while now and I got a good deal on a DSSF. I just paid for it today so I don't have it in hand yet. My main question is this. I see them being sold for what seems cheaper than all other Busse's on these forums. I really like the look of it but is there some reason why it's cheaper? Is it not made with the Busse steel? Is it thinner than most? It's damn hard to find Busse info on the web anywhere.

I'm also wondering if there is a place to get replacement grips for it? I was thinking a dark blue would look nice on there. Maybe just blue spacers?

The reason that they are cheaper is because they are new and currently "in production", kinda. They are easy to find. And yes, they are indeed INFI so don't worry. As for thickness, I forget, I think it's .22. As for finding info on the combat site, you won't find any. The DSSF is a "gun show knife" (?). They're not a regualr offering right now but you can get them brand new at gun shows (Knob Creek, the Indy 1500. etc.)

As for the blue scales, you could e-mail Garth at the custom shop and ask him about it.

it IS a steal right now. crazy cheap prices, for a fantastic knife.

INFI for sure, a great length, thick enough but not too thick. I love my DSF.

Thanks guys. I looked through the site and I can't find anything with Garths email in it. Do you have the email? Should I just use the customer service email? Thanks.

can somebody give me the specs on this DSSF? i might take the plunge also but would like to know overall, blade and thickness.thanks

Its 8" long, .22" thick.

Here it is (terror monkey, not the stealth but same specs) with some other Busses (and others) for size comparison:

I am between med/large in glove size - I find the handle to have plenty of room for many grips. I would imagine even with gloves on it would be plenty big for someone with larger hands.

Cant speak to the fighter question, but the choil is usable, even with gloves.

Check out This Thread and some of =MAX='s others for some great DSF action - they were the main inspiration for me wanting one!

Handle is not small. I have large hands and there is room to spare on the grip when I handle it.

Hi al g blenny -

I have a DSSF - I have not used it for anything yet, but it is a very nice knife.

It is large by most standards and seems like a very stout, capable knife.

Here is a picture to add to your thread -

I love my DSSF!
Great woods walking knife. Quite light for it's size(for a Busse). Cuts well and choppes quite well )for it's size and small weight) too.

garth@bussecombat.com

With the Easton Show coming up in two weeks, Garth and crew will be busy. He has been known to get behind on his email. If you don't hear back, give the shop a call. Scale swaps are an easy mod.
