I see on Ebay there is a "Buck 110 Dual Action" folder up for bid (item number 300060085312). From the description it looks like an automatic or assisted opening knife. Is this something Buck made or did someone modify it?

It's not my auction, I was just wondering. Thanks.

It is a conversion by someone else. Buck does not make or convert an automatic.

howdy and welcom to buck forum ...
buck has never made a dual action 110
they have an assisted opening knife but it is in the taticall product line
in fact buck made engeneering changes to the 110 years ago to prevent easy converrsatin to a gravity type action after being called to court were one had been converted to such...

all of the 110 changes like that are done out side of bucks warrenty alowances and they wont touch them at all for any reason once done.

some of the changes are well working modfacations ...
some will maybe last a week ...
there is no knowing unless you know who did the work and what the repation of that person is...

IMHO: best advice is if you get one of the 110's like that - get it only for show ...some buck collectors have one jest for show that it can be done...

if you plan on carrying a knife like that find one that is well made by some one else ... and check the laws were you plan on being ....

any thing else my friend?

humm i see Hkingdom is faster typer then i... good ...

Might try a search here on automatic.

Was a lot of conversation some months back with some pics.
Usually these are just picked up as collectables or curios, not users.

The brown one here is single action. Button only. The Green one is either pushbutton or manual like a regular 110. These both seem like well built conversions. I don't know who did them.

Thanks for the info. I guess folks have modified the 110 in just about every way possible!

334dave... Thanks for the welcome. I have posted in the Buck forum before but not frequently enough to be remembered :-)
