Dual sharpening angles

One of my knives came with 30 degree angle on one side and 40 degree on the other, It is the Kershaw / Onion 1550 blackout. Anyone have experience in this? Not only are the sharpening angles different on each side, but on one side the hollow ground starts near the spine, and on the other side, it's much lower. Are they made this way or do I have a defect? What are the benifets to these differing angles?

I have a 30/40 edge on my Dodo, that I still haven't got around to fix...

I don't think there is a problem, or serious hinderence with uneven primary grinds (in terms of cutting ability) but if it bothers you, you should email them and see what they say.
