I was wondering if any has had them put on their Sebbie from CRK. It is important to me to have dual thumbstuds on my knives. The ones I am use and plan on keeping!! I should write CRK and ask them how much to do this, if they do that.

I have one I got form egay this way

very handy!

You NEED them!

I have to disagree. It increases the likelyhood of snagging on your pocket when you pull the knife out.

Dual thumbstuds provide aesthetic symmetry and functional balance. I cut "straighter" using knives that have bi-lateral symmetry.

It's about $30 for dual thumblugs. I have a couple and they work well for me although I wouldn't put the double thumblug in the must have category. I've never had a snagging problem. But I can see your point Dave because inadvertantly openning your knife as you take it out of your pocket can have disatrous results. The main advantage of having dual thumblugs is the ability to open the knife with either hand. I had them put on my large micarta inlay so the knife would be as versatile as possible.

The dual thumblugs are a must for me. All my Sebbies (six, at the moment) have 'em.

I've got one on the way home from the Motherland as we speak, and I'll let you know what the charge on the bill was for the double lug; I believe it's around $38 now. They have to discard the original lug, then install a new press-fitted lug that has its own hole for the other press-fitted lug. Then they fashion a small cutout on the lock-side slab and re-blast it.

You single luggers are just asking for trouble walking around out there half-cocked! :)

Just kidding. All of my Sebenza's are double lugged, but it is simply a matter of preference. Scott Dog is on the money with the increased likelihood of inadvertant opening with double lugs. I believe it's been referred to as the "unintentional wave." And from a minimalist's point of view on a minimalist folder, you're adding an extra part!

Professor.

I LOVE dual thumbstuds!! I sent one of my customs out to have duals put on!! It is a MUST for me as well. Thanks for alll the responses. I have no issue with duals catching on my pocket.

i have both a reg sm and reg lg and they both have dual thunb studs. i NEED the ambi capability. depending on what i am doing i need to be able to open my knife with either hand.

as an aside i also prefer the symmetry of dual lugs.

and if you want to be uber cool you can practice "waving" your sebbie as you "whip it out" of you pocket to impress the ladies!

j/k i have never had the lug snag while removing my seb from my pocket *knocks on wood*

butt as they say different strokes for different folks:foot:

I have a Benchmade Monochrome and the only thing I dislike about the knife is the dual thumbstuds. They are squared off and snag on my jeans pocket occasionally. I'm thinking the thumbstuds on the Sebenza will be less likely to do this as they are tapered. I think I would prefer a single thumbstud, but I'm looking at the used market and a see mostly duals, so I may end up going that route.

EXACTLY!!!! I love the dual thumbstuds on my Mosier's!! I don't have any issues with his thumbstuds catching at all.
