Howdy!
This is part of the hoard previously mentioned; being offered for sale elsewhere to help defray the cost of memory care for the old fellow who accumulated them. This may be the pick of the litter, based on a few comments on eBay about rarity...part of its appeal may have to do with its original leather pouch, which I cannot find another example of, an' its overall condition.
This razor is quite clean, an' appears to have been well cared for; the pouch is fully intact, with no stitching broken or missing, an' no apparent water damage. '5/8' is faintly visible impressed into the pouch flap, but it's very hard for me to capture in a pic. I note (on the only other Reaper I've found ) that the toe of the blade on mine is radiused, while the other is square to the blade edge at the toe.
I am considering cautiously attempting to brighten the brass embellishments on the scales, but I'm aware that Celluloid is very alcohol-sensitive. Also, it may be better to offer it as-is, allowing the buyer to make their own decision about clean-up, if desired. What are your thoughts about that?
Can y'all say when these were made...an' whether they are truly rare? Any suggestions or comments about this razor, an' how best to promote it in my listing, are most welcome, an' will be gratefully acknowledged. Thanks for lookin'!
