Duckfoot sharpener for convex blades?

I've read about the specifics of the "duckfoot" by spyderco and started to wonder if it could be used to sharpen a convex blade.

Any thoughts on this, or am I just better off getting strop/compound etc.?

I have used the Duckfoot to thin the convex edge on my Spyderco/Hossum Dayhiker, so yes, it can be done. I was using it more due to the recurve than the convex edge, though. There are doubtless better and faster ways to sharpen convex edges, but the Duckfoot is what I had.
