dude! im the banner boy for comedy in japan!

Danny- as is typical in show biz, you are upstaged by the kid. Better ditch the kid, and get a better agent. ;) :p :D

when I was in Japan, I made a couple of tv shows and did a few photo shoots, it was weird as I am not that type around home base..... kind of shy and quite , not the Drama school type.

I met some people in the entertainment business, a few directors, a few actors , photo journalist quite by accident. I was mentioned in an article in some magizine and it started from there. it was 20 years ago , looks like there is still a good market for Honkies in Japan..... huh?

Well it was good for the ego. Wished I had pursued it, who knows I could have been a star? I was incouraged to take up pro wrestling, there was supposed to be good money in it, I thought engineering was more honerable and then I wasn't that big of a guy (what an idiot I was, didn't matter in Japan).

Go for it Danny, and remember Cynthia Rothrock, not to mention Steven Segal. A little star dust never hurt anybody , especially their bankbook.

Spectre- what is the rifle you wish to buy? don't you hate having to rob Paul to pay Peter?

(Munk- match FAL w/ 24" match heavy barrel, trigger job, custom (shorter) LOP stock w/ adjustable cheekpiece, etc, all built by the friend who built my current G1-based FAL battle rifle. Yes, it does suck. Will have sold at least 2 pistols and 3 rifles to get this!)

John - you going to Blade? If so, post in the thread....If not, we'll miss ya!

Danny - Why aren't you listed under the "special skills" section as well? Comedy plus martial arts...the next what's his name???

Jackie Chan- anyone who'd break all those bones to get the shot just right is A-OK in my book. He looked around and saw serious martial arts films were all the rage, B Lee stuff, and built his own niche. Now there's lot's of great stuff coming out. I wish I could remember the name of the series of movies (not Chan's) where a young man is courting a young lady, and his mother is a top martial arts champ. I believe she also played the older woman in Crouching Tiger, Sleeping Dragon (did I get the name right? )

Spectre- I know exactly how you feel. Go for it. Not too many match FAL's handbuilt by a friend laying around.

Jackie Chan...yeah...Danny, you are already doing both comedy and the arts...you need to hook up with him. You could be the American counterpart to his Asian side. This might be a seriously good idea!!!

Then someday, I can say..."Yeah, I kne whim when he was still sending Khuk money via Paypal!"

Why, our DVDs with him would skyrocket in value to collectors! We could buy dozens, maybe hundreds of Khukris with the profits...Danny...you owe it to your buddies to go make millions in the movie industry!

Maybe you can kick Steven Seagull's ass with a Khukri somday?

Sure...they *all* say that until you p*** them off!
 ;) :D

Okay...maybe Danny could just do schtick until Jackie Chan shows up to whup butt?

Bruise could do a walk-on to help! :D

you guys are too funny.
Maybe you have a good idea.

A fat, funny, MA expert and his wisecracking sidekick.

What should we call the show ?

Very cool, Danny:)
I think Chris Tucker beat you to the whole East meets West thing with Jackie Chan in Rush Hour and it's ilk. However, you being able to make a flabbergasted face has already put to head and shoulders above Chris Tucker as a comedic genius;) How does that guy keep getting work?... Jackie Chan:) Any of you real Chan fans should check out Fearless Hyina. Great flick with young Jackie doing things that would get him killed now. Best of luck, Danny. You'll go far:D

i appreciate the support.
working as an actor in japan is strange. they dont have real actors here. everybody just sort of makes it up as they go along.
if youre not an exploding nine headed clown, they just dont see you.
you have to be waaay over the top.

seriously though, i get more jobs here than the pretty boy types.
when a director needs a big white man, theres not many to choose from, so i get a lot more jobs than i did in the usa.

i have some missing teeth, so im sure thats hurting my opportunities, but i am working on that right now.

its all just for fun and a little extra cash every month. i think thats how every actor should look at it, but obviously some people take show business too seriously.
