I wanted to know if anyone has any insight into the Due South knives. Did they just buy some GEC's and mod them or are they like a Northwoods, made by GEC to their specs? I have one, a #15 that was a ball and chain that has the hole filled in, plus a modded spear blade. Are they collectable or just a good candidate for a user. Mine is new with the box, pin, patch, etc

Due South Knives is an Olde Towne Cutlery brand (OTC is on the GEC distributor list). Never been to their shop but ordered online and spoken with them at their booth at Blade Show. They had GEC and NW in their Blade display, some very nice ones at the time. Do not know if they commission, mod any knives, take on sale or trade, or if they make any themselves or partner with makers.

They modded so 82 Dixie stockman into carving knives in 2019 when they weren't moving real fast.

I don’t know much about Due South but I do seem to recall that Maher & Grosh commissioned the bail and chains with that jigging, because I was tempted to buy one and pull off the bail….. then decided against it. They lingered for a while.

This one does have some very nice jigging, plus a great snap, which a lot of #15's lack.
