I was hunting through the archives and I noticed in the Kothimada thread that uncle Bill said something about the possibility of a 'poor man's kothimada' being in the future.. Did anything more concrete ever come out about this? I really like the dui chirra style, and it would take too long to save up for the actual BirGorkha kothimada (although I think I will in the future, after I have the less fancy khukuris out of the way;) ).

Lat, I have a plain YCS for a good price which is really a better user than the kothimoda. Just ask Yvsa!

I have a kothimoda and have always thought that a "poor mans kothimoda" would be an excellent khukuri, but I'm gonna have to side with Uncle Bill on this.;)
They YCS is just an all around better khukuri for about any task one wants to assign to it.
The thinner edge profile is among one of the things that makes it a better chopper and cutting tool.

The YCS blade profile is very, very good. This and the fullers make it an excellent performer. It works like a much heavier khukuri.
