Gentlemen I would appreciate any advicece offered.I have a spyderco police model and a spyderco harpy, both have S.S. handles. And bothhandles are dull lookiing and have many light scratches. How do I get them out? Thanks.

Off the top of my head, I think some might recommend "Flitz" metal polish.

Then again some might say all the scratches add character. good luck on the elbow grease!

If the metal polish doesn't work, then sandpaper or emery cloth would work. Start with the least coarse grit that will get them out, and work up to 2000 grit to polish the steel.

Another alternative might be Scotch Brite pads, but I don't know how well those would work.

Another alternative is to buff out the handles using 0000 steel wool. This will nicely cover the scratches.

I have used the basic kitchen Scotch Brite pads on my Endura2. They worked pretty good, for something I already had around the house. They didn't remove any of the deeper scratches, but did cover them up quite well. The pads left a nice brushed looking finish.

For a very shiny finish, I’d use few different grits of SIC wet/dry paper, progressively working my way up in grit.

I have used this method also and it turned out quite good. Not as good as it came from the factory but pretty close.
