Dullest production knife ?

Recently I resaved couple delta-z knifes and was amazed how dull the blade was: booth of them was unable to cut regular printer paper. The knifes itself is very nicely build, no blade play, perfect lock and etc, but I was a little bit disappointed by blade dullness.

So what the dullest production knife you ever got (new it is)?

The dullest production knife I ever got was the SOG Tigershark. It couldn't cut through paper at all. I guess it was a fluke though.

A Case small Texas Toothpick with a Damascus blade that only had the slightest start of an edge.

But it's happy now.

I have the same knife same horrible edge, a few hours re profiling the edge on the lansky jig and its hair pop'n sharp.:D

anyone else notice the sad smily is yellow now?:(

Dullest knife for me was a MOD Razorback. Couldn't cut hot butter with it. Nice design. Just needs to be ground flat.

My butter knife was/is a brand new, out of the box, Cold Steel Bushman.

Granted this is a really inexpensive knife that isn't likely to have me return for a factory sharpening but some QC would be nice. Heck, I could sharpen better than this Bushman, and I SUCK at sharpening!

I think the dullest knife right out of the box I've had was a BM 710. It's sharper'n shìt now, though, that's for sure.

A Kershaw Trooper dagger. When I got it it wouldn't cut warm butter...When I traded it off it would cut cold butter.:D.

I once received a Spyderco Native that had made it through quality control without the final bevel being ground. It wasn't just a dull edge, it was a flat edge :( A quick trip back to the factory and it was hair-popping sharp :D

Let me retract my statement of the Cold Steel Bushman. After I wrote my original post, I took my CS Bushman (still with original factory edge) out and stropped it a few times on a leather belt. It now slices paper, and pops hair.

I still stand by my other statement however...I SUCK AT SHARPENING! :grumpy:

Hmmm..., that would be a Jody Samson fighter he made in 1976 (for me)....he forgot to sharpen it...lol. Really! And Jody can sharpen a knife :)

It is sharp now though....

It was a "Navy knife" the old six inch black blade with an acute point. Dullest thing I ever had. It was just awful.

The dullest production knife I ever got was my Moore Maker 5200 trapper. Neither blade was usably sharp and needed about 5 minutes each on a bench stone to get them to the kind of edge I like.

Just shows to go ya'. I bought a Bushman and was astounded at the hair shaving edge out of the box. Plus, as someone here has said, you can sharpen it on a rock. At the price, I'm planning to buy a couple more to stick in various places as a good solid knife you can probably depend on for most tasks.
