After a lot of deliberation, I just ordered this overnight bag in the firehose material. It was on sale for $100 compared to $55 for the black nylon. I normally go for the "buy quality, cry once" deal but twice the price seemed like a lot. In the end I sprang for the firehose because I am hoping this will be a one time purchase that I will use for the rest of my life, and the nylon just looks much cheaper and less durable than the canvas material.

Does anybody else have one of these bags? I have a couple of weddings this summer along with several interviews in the fall/winter, so I am excited to put it through its paces.

Please let me know. And include pictures. I cant understand why that company never uses real pictures. It upsets me greatly.

That bag looks intrigueing though and I'd have a lot of use for it.

Thanks!

I received the bag today and I am pretty impressed with it so far. It appears pretty high quality. I took some preliminary pictures. I will be using it for a 2 day trip this weekend so I will post my impressions and pictures next week.

Alright so it took me a while, but I am ready to write a brief review of this bag. I will start with pictures.

It came in a little sack. Nice presentation:

As you can see, the bag is composed of three parts: the main bag, the shoe bag, and the toiletries bag.

The shoe bag:

It came with these littls sacks to put your shoes in. It keeps the shoes from getting each other dirty. Very nice touch.

The toiletries bag.

As you can see, the toiletries bag has a small amount of organization. For my needs, it is adequate. There is also a hook so you can hang it in the bathroom.

Here is the main section opened up. There are multiple dividers to separate your clothing if you so desire.

Same.

Here I am holding the bag. Stylish, yes?

As for my impressions...This is the result of about 3 weekends of use.

It is a pretty cool bag. Pricey at its regular price, but I got it on sale. Is it worth it? Depends. I found that it didn't prevent wrinkles as well as they advertise. Maybe this is because I don't know how to pack it and roll it tightly. With dress shirts and thin, dressy slacks, they definitely got wrinkled and needed ironing at the hotel. With slightly more casual button downs and khakis in wrinkle-resistant material, the clothes were passable and did not need ironing at my destination.

I think for a weekend getaway bag, it's pretty cool. I used it for a suit once and it caused a few small wrinkles. I would avoid doing so again. For casual clothes or if you have time to touch things up a bit, it works well. I definitely like the look and material. Black nylon is great for most casual bags, but it's nice to have something a little more upscale and classic looking. If you travel a lot on short 2-3 day trips, it is a great size. The shoe bag and toiletries bag are nice to have separate and overall, it's a nice package. Build quality is excellent and I can see myself using this bag for a long time to come.

I should also mention I got TONS of compliments on the bag, which is always nice. One reason I got it was for the looks, so it's nice to have that reinforced by others. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my review. Since Duluth uses those crappy pseudo-pictures in their catalog, I thought it would be nice to provide a look at the real product.

I ordered it straight from Duluth. I forgot to mention, their shipping charges are ridiculous. They are based on price, not weight. So shipping for my $100 order was about $15 (outrageous) compared to shipping for the order if I had gotten the $50 nylon version of this bag, even though they are similar size and weight.

Uh... Duluth Trading I bet. ;)

I have a few of their bags, mostly the older models made from heavy-duty nylon. Top-notch stuff that's really held up. After ten years, including five years around the drill rigs and countless trips in the back of my truck, the Portfolio and Briefcase are starting to look slightly worn. :)
