Dumb question about lube and Gerber...

Hi all, my apologies if this has been brought forth before, but I can't find it, specifically. My question is: what oil is safe to use on my Gerber Torch 2's pivot, with its cheap plastic- like washers? I know my Ontario RAT-1 has bronze washers, so 3 in 1 or gun oil is safe, but with the Gerber, I don't anything destroying the washers...

Any input/ experience would be great.

Thanks!

I haven't heard of anyone using an oil that will eat the washers in our pivots, so I imagine you have to really think outside the box for that to happen. Gun oil should be safe, I use 3 in1. A lot of people use mineral oil if they use their knives for eating or food prep as it's safe for consumption in those doses (I think it's considered a laxative in significantly higher doses). There are a lot of options, neither one I mentioned is top dog for lubricating effects but get the job done.

And that cheap plastic like washer is probably a teflon washer. So as long as whatever your using doesn't eat teflon you should be good. But I don't know of a lube off hand that will eat that.
