Dumb question but I'm curious

While putting my TDI clip equipped Eskabar on my belt today it got me thinking about where on their belt other people position a sheath. What I mean is this, if you have beltloops on your sides do you put the sheath to the front or to the back of the beltloop? 99% of the time I carry a knife to the backside of the side beltloop so I can wear it at my side or push it behind me more. What do you guys and gals do?

right hip, slightly to the back. beltloops are all different on different pants so it's never in exactly the same place, but generally still in that area a little bit behind the hipbone.

I go behind the second belt loop on my jeans(cuz that's the only pants I wear) so that like you, I can slide it around. Sometimes if its got a split belt loop or a molle type loop I'll straddle my jean belt loop to lock in in position. The first way is if there's the possibility I'll have to sit in a chair or drive. The second is for the woods basically.

Like this but I have moved the sheath forward towards the buckle over that visible belt loop.

Right side just behind the pocket. This way I am more comfortable when sitting. Of course I normally have it attached with a police issued belt stay so the sheath can be put on or removed without having to undo my belt.

That's how I go (only straddling that loop) if I'm wearing a BK11, BK14 or BK2 on my belt. Frequently the neck knives are on my ... neck. BK9 currently goes on a paracord baldric(ish) thing - where the knife goes on my weak side. Guess that makes it a neck knife too.

I really like the sideways mount. I wonder if I could rig by BK2 sheath like that? Looks like its experiment time.

I'm going to have a local leather crafter build a horizontal sheath for my BK2. The one thing I want is the knife/sheath to hang balanced meaning I don't want it to hang blade or handle heavy.
