How strong is the pull on your Jacks and Gents? I like wharncliffe blades, don't have huge amounts of cash, and really can't handle heavy pulls. My Buck 310s are about ideal for pull, and my Peanut as stated elsewhere is a nail-breaker on the pen blade but tolerable on the main blade.

I have one of each. I prefer the Jack as far as feel in the hand. Both are about 4 to 5 as far as pull goes.

I just checked 4 jacks and 1 gent. They're all right around a 5 and all very solid and well built. The jack is a very versatile little knife. I'd start with that one.

I have a sway back jack. I'd say it's a bit more pull than any Buck, but it's not bad at all. 4-5, like the others are saying, sounds about right.

The SBJ I have is probably a 5 or 6 on the pull. I always think the pull on a blade with a half stop "feels" a little stronger to me than identical pull on a blade without a half stop. Maybe I have a rich fantasy life.
