dumb question - how do i delete photos i've uploaded to the file manager?

i've had several sale threads over the year, trying to clean up house and delete ones that are long gone.
i can't figure out how to delete photos i've uploaded to the BF file manager.

love some help, since i'm too dumb to figure it out.

--i only seem to be able to access them if i start/edit a post, then 'manage attachments'. no place to delete in that window. is there someplace else i can go to access them?
 
I've read a couple of threads where the pictures are still there after they've been deleted, but you can try by going to "Settings" at the top right corner of the screen, then scrolling down to "Attachments" at the bottom of the menu on the left side. Click the check boxes of the pictures you wish to remove, then click the "Delete selected" button at the bottom of the page.

thanks for the reply and help. unfortunately, it only sort-of worked. just like editing a specific post by deleting the attachment to it, that removes the pics from the specific post they were in, but they are still showing up in my 'upload manager'. so i still have pages of pics to sift through when i want to add a pic to a post.

i know, i know, 'sort' by date, toughen up, don't be a nancy. i'm just anal retentive enough that i want to get rid of pics that aren't in use and clutter up the upload manager.

thanks again, though, didn't even know that way was there - way easier than going to indiv posts if i want to delete out pics from a specific post.

i'm wondering why all of the pictures i have uploaded are not in the same place. it seems that the pictures i uploaded prior to the software change are in a seperate location and not with the ones uploaded after the software change.

Yeah, that's what I've been reading. There seems to be a glitch in the new forum software that makes it hang onto pictures that have been deleted, at least for some people. I've been using Photobucket for the last couple of years, much easier to manage the pictures for me.

any new ideas on cleaning out my upload manager here on BF? still looking at 6-7 pages of uploaded pics on the upload manager that i don't need and aren't being used in any threads. they're just sitting there taking up space. and i'm super anal, so it really bothers me more than it would bother a normal person :)

I'm apparently not normal either. It bugs the stuff out of me that I cannot figure out how to get rid of the pictures.
 
I have the same problem. I've gone to Settings, then Attachments and deleted photos from threads that I've started. But when I upload pictures for a new sales thread, it shows that I have 5 pages of photos that I thought were gone! And there is no "delete" option anywhere when that window opens up. I've asked several Mods about this and so far they seem puzzled also.
 
Deleting them from the attachment management worked for me. Try logging off then logging back on.


But, it seems like it only worked with things I've uploaded since the upgrade.
 
i wish there was a way to move the pictures uploaded before the upgrade to the folder where they are stored at now. i wanted to use some pictures i posted before but cant figure out how to. i have tried to copy the links but that didnt work.

I tried it but no luck. All the pics are still there. Thanks for the suggestion though.
