Every so often I come across these novelty knives. Some nicer quality than other. There is an interesting one made in Germany at the moment, and one in a batch of stuff a guy wants way too much for with a Marilyn Monroe on it.
The question is what is the technique for doing this?
I thought, perhaps, if I printed something out on some "acid free" archival paper, with similarly archival inks (if there is such a thing) then stuck it to the bottom of a mold and poured clear resin over it and pressurized the bubbles out of it I could come up with a scale. (With anything on it, not necessarily a naked lady). Having not worked with any resins yet, I assumed I'd ask, since it sounds too easy. I also figured that paper might not be a good medium and perhaps it would have to be printed on some kind of acetate or other such thing. I know when computer paper meets super glue it gets dark pretty quick, perhaps something like that might happen with resin?
