Recommendation? dumb question, taco-mag for smart phone?

So I currently have a moto G3rd in an otter defender case, 3.5x6x0.75inches. Its a pain to find a holster for it that is secure enough. Currently I'm using a maxped radio holster. Since phones are not going to be getting smaller anytime soon, and I find myself also needing a radio holster enough, I wondered if a taco-style holster might be pulled tight enough to hold a phone? Since I have no easy access to that sort of thing, I just thought I'd ask, if anyone knew which one would be a good starting point to look at? Or any other radio/phone type holsters that might be of a similar idea? I don't need it to be PALs compatible, but I'd like it to hold my phone while I'm inverted if at all possible.

I just checked a HSGI taco with a iPhone x and it holds it firmly, if i snugged it up a little more it would hold it inverted with no problems. So I think your moto would fit just as well. I know the HSGI taco will hold anything from a Ar mag, Ak mag, M14 mag and a saiga 12 gauge mag with no problems because i've used them all at one time or another without switching pouches.

Nice, and if you have them, I should be able to find one here no problems. It'll be a long time before I get to where I can put mags in one, but there is always hope. What is the backing on the HSGI? Standard PALs or do they do interesting stuff like some of the maxped pouches?

The ones I have are all Molle mounts, with Molle clips that feed through and lock, you might also look at the G code version, its very similar to the HSGI tacos. They have a bunch of different belt and molle mounts, including belt slides and clips to feed a belt through. I don't have any of the pouches from G code but i've had a dozen of their holsters and they were first rate.

Thanks man. I'm still puzzling on how and where I will mount it. I daily carry a Ribz pack at work, which is wearing out, and they are no longer available (though might be getting a new batch done, rumor has it) and I like having all my daily snivel stuff on me at all times (even when chilling up a tree with the munchkins) I also keep a few little bits of gear in it because I'm habitually disorganized and so I need a really solid system to make sure my gear doesn't get left behind. Was thinking of a HPG chest rig, but one- a little tacti-tard looking for my work(but only a little), and my actual speed of travel, and two- since it doesn't split like the Ribz, I wonder how well it will work while wearing a harness. But I'm not liking having the brick-o-doom sitting in a cargo pocket. I'd like it a little more front and center, as well as I wear a radio often enough, though not every day, that a better holster would be nice, belt clips suck.
