I can't remember what a part is called.

It is the black "T-nut" shaped inserts you press ( or screw) into a counterbored hole in aluminum. Like the ones Travis Wertz uses on his tool arms and fixtures. For the life of me I can't pull that name out of my head. The only thing I come up with is "top hat".

Y0u can see the inserts on the flat platen arms in this photo:

I think you're looking for a "Rivet Nut"...Most industrial supply houses carry them..Grainger etc.,

On my TW-90, those black inset fasteners are flat-head bolts. The hole is countersunk, not counterbored.

Thanks Jim,
STEEL PRESS FIT NUTS
- aka Captive Nuts ( hat...cap, that was where I was going)

Socket nuts will also work for pressing in aluminum:

You can put either of them in aluminum jigs by drilling a seat and pressing them in so they are flush.

Patrick, Thanks, I now see that image didn't show what I was asking about, but the look was similar.
This is what the picture had:

in my long life i have found that there are no dumb questions only sometimes dumb answers
