These pics were all taken about 1/4 mile from my house. This area is a dry creek bed. Marsh Creek near the base of Mt Diablo, Ca. It is a beautiful area. The swamp looking photo might be the last bit of water around. We are in what they are calling a severe drought. The hills here turned brown in April this year. I saw lots of animal tracks near that water. Raccoons, coyotes, wild turkeys.

Anyone happen to have this and a DS8 For a side by side pic? I have the latter and it kept me from pulling the trigger on the Drop Point, but it sure is a looker!

Update on the amazing stonewashed finish. I pulled the DP out of the spec ops sheath this morning. The blade was a little dirty, some discoloration, a little sap or something from wood chopping. I cleaned the blade with mineral oil and a fine wire brush. Circular motion , no water.
Wow ! Good as new!

Looks familiar. resinwife's sister and husband used live just off Camino Tassajara, east of Blackhawk Plaza. I never really had a chance to explore/hike the area except for walking up the ridgeline above their development, under the power lines. The dry brown is just so different from NE Ohio. We did drive up to the top of Mt. Diablo a few times. Very nice.

Wow! What a great design and the stonewash is the icing on the cake! Finally able to get some shots and it kinda sorta looks like it resembles ...well you decide.
