Hey am still in the search for a knife for my brother. I just found what looks like the one. The dumpster mutt made by scrap yard. How does this compare to becker bk7 and the ka bar? this would be a heavy use and abuse knife. thanks

I own and use the Dogfather and Scrapper 6. For heavy use and abuse this is the way to go. My only dislike was the thick edges, though they came shaving sharp. I filed a slightly steeper convex edge and they chop like demons now. Edge retention is good, a very tough no nonsense knife. Handles on both were very comfortable.

I have a Scrap Yard Mudpuppy and it is crazy tough. It is not in production anymore and a little hard to come by but just by judging this knife, anything by Scrap Yard is up for extreme use. I recommend them to all my friends. Go for it!

The Dumpster mutt is going to be stronger then the BK7 or anything else made by Kbar. It is one thick tough little chunk of steel. It may not be the best slicer, but your brother ain't gonna break 1/4" or better S77 steel. That takes nothing away from the Kabar or Becker products, they are great knives....just not as good of a prybar as the Mutt. :D
