What about a full tang mora? i know that i love my M2K almost more than any other knife (i think it's the skin a hair off a gnat's ass sharpness that's doing it for me). I dont like the non full tang...without going into a debate of stick vs full, anyone know of such a knife? (Please note im running on very little sleep so my "knowledge" may be altered at this time)

Perfect for me (this may be a fantasy)

Same oa length of M2K
1095
handle of either micarta or NICE wood (possibly that can be removed ala Becker)
Scandi grind/sharp as above
REally i guess Becker meets Mora= perfect knife
sub $100
Am i high? or is this or can this be done?
THoughts gents?

I saw in the latest brass pro shops catalog that Buck knives is making a "mora-type" knife that was full-tang and around $25.

yeah please give model number cuz i just hit up BPS website and couldnt find the one you speak of

EnZo makes some very nice full tang scandis !!!
But for sub $ 100 you can only get a blade blank - you'll have to make your own handle and sheath.

Sounds like you're describing a "bushcraft knife". There are plenty of those out there- several custom makers here on this forum already make or can make exactly what you're looking for. If you look hard enough, you can probably find something for under $100.

You are probably correct about the bushcraft knife...

really was daydreaming aloud and now kinda want a mora meets becker :D

It's not a scandi (full flat grind with a deep convex edge) but check out the Condor Rodan if you can get your hands on it. It's 1075 high carbon and is probably as close to what a Becker-ized Mora would look like. :D

Best thing is...MSRP is, like, $40. Which means you can find 'em for around $20 on the 'net (providing you can track down someone who has them in stock :( )

Yes, the Rodan is roughly the same size as the BK-2. The few people who have gotten their hands on one rave over them. I want one at some point but, since I already have a BK-2 that I love, I want the Condor Bushlore first.

Im have the Bushlore and the Rodan. It is hard to imagine what needs done that these two knives couldn't do. And for about 45.00 for the pair.

So you were one of the lucky ones to score a pair ... sweet

I really hope Condor get their knives into stores soon.

Here's the info

"Buck Bucklite Max - item #42-889-302-02"

It looks "Mora-ish" like the Frosts Mora Craftsman. And after rereading the intial post, may not be what the orginal poster was seeking. And it is most def. a hollow grind, not scandi. It kind caught my eye, but the Buck costs $25. Thats what TWO Mora Clippers cost, etc :)
