Duplex Blades: Useful, or Novelty?

I didn't know the term until I just looked at them, though I have seen them before.
I don't like them at all myself.

Not a fan. It seems cool....but not very functional, in my opinion that is.

I sold mine somewhere else after i bought one nikkir is right not funticonal at all

agreed with functionality, I also had a hard time keeping mine sharp & I am a excellent knife sharpener. So now it is a display knife for when guest are over or I'm blade boasting with friends about the odd and cool looking

A large blade with a more gentle compound grind that flows from a full-flat into a convex near the tip can be really nice, allowing for excellent fine cutting ability and good high-performance chopping without hindering either one. I'm not so sure about small ones with really abrupt transitions between radically different grinds. They look neat and lots of people like 'em, though.
