duplex grain

Could some one explain duplex grain, exactly what is happining to the structure and why and what are the negitive effects. Are there any positive effects. I am not a metalurgist and all the information that I can find is way over my head. Please help>

That question was recently asked and answered but I forget which forum .There were photomicrographs too. ...There are large grains with distinct grain boundaries and within those are smaller grains . It can act [strength ,toughness etc] as it had just the larger grains.I din't know of any benefits.....It's spelled metallurgist !!
