anybody use durabake(sp?). i was thinking about using this stuff to finish a chopper/camp knife for my son-in-law. it's supposed to be used for gun barrels,etc. i'm thinking that it would kind of cool looking. sort of like the finish on a bk-9. i wonder how durable a finish it would be.

also would it fill in that last little scratch on the blade that i just can't seem to get out?

I used the regular duracoat on an AR about 5 years ago. Only spots that wore off was the brass deflector and around the gas block. I removed it back in the summer and that stuff is tuff to take off. The biggest key to that stuff is prep work. Personally I would parkerize it
 
Since Durabake is Cerakote I guess I do! Duracoat simply private labels Cerakote under their own brand.

No it will not fill a scratch. It is very durable.
