Hey guys! I been thinkin about duracoating a few of my blades and didn't know if it was the right thing to do. So what do ya think? Is it BS or does it actually work well? Thanks a lot! Oh and the blades range from 4 to 6 " shade more or less give or take. Andddd, is this an expensive process? Thanks for any help.

I hate coated blades, and unless you really need to inhibit corrosion (sea, river, lake, humid environments, etc.), I think that it is a waste of money. Adding a coat to your knives will only add friction when chopping. -Forget about the claims about teflon & moly inclusions in today's wonderpaints, they are only good for lubricating metal-to-metal contact like in firearms -and not for knives.

Do what have been done for millenia and just wipe your blades after use with an oily rag.

i wouldnt do it unless maybe i lived/worked around salt water a lot, and even then i would think not once not twice but 3 times about it.

if ya use something like a tuffcloth/etc corrosion shouldnt be a problem, and that would be the only pro coatings have, unless ya just like the look of coated blades, which i do on some rare stuff, i usually prefer satin though.
