It's a dayumed shame so many are damaged with minor rust. Hay'ull if I was able you could send them to me for a good buffing and then sell them for full price.
Dayumed shame it is!!!!

And chances are if the knife is ever used it will at some time develop a rusty spot or two, especially if used in the winter when it's more often than not gonna be wet and cold.
No where on earth can anyone find prices like those found here......

Is it my eyes or is that a really huge brass chappe?

Why so many rust problems as of late? I always thought there was a light coat of oil on the blade. Maybe it was just peanut butter on my hands.

No, that's tape and cardboard on the tip. This is how they ship them to try to protect the tip from dings.

I think that the wood used in the scabbards gets wet somehow -- how I'm not sure -- and this will cause the blades to rust no matter how well oiled they are. It's not major and when the weather is nice enough to work outside here in Reno a little sandpaper and a trip to the buffer takes care of it -- but it's too cold right now to work outside. So, keep watching for the super deals until warm weather arrives.
