Between my digital camera which won't do what I tell it to do, Corel Photohouse which won't do what I tell it to do, Ofoto which puts up all sorts of red flags, space limitation here on the forum, it's almost impossible for me to get a pix posted anymore -- but persistence finally paid off. Here's the pix.

This is a prototype made by Durba from a wood model a nephew sent me a couple of months back. Durba nailed it 98% and even remembered to put in the requested lanyard hole. Both knife and scabbard rate a 10/10.

Forgot the specs: 17.5 inches, almost 3/4" thick, weighs 57 ounces --very beefy knife. Sher is not the only kami at BirGorkha who knows how to make a heavy blade.

I got Yvsa's model in yesterday PM and now have more confidence.

If anybody wants one I'll try to get it made but this won't be a standard offering. Chris, your special order arrived yesterday PM and we'll be shipping it today -- made by Durba and looks good and is what we wanted.

This one looks like something out of Starwars or one of those old Arabian films.:)
Neat looking, but a bit heavy for me personally.

Well Bro do you think it's a go?
And what about our little surprise ;)? Do you think it's doable as well?:)
What do you think about the balance and the way the handle is designed, both for close up work and for chopping?

I have always had confidence in your estimates.:D

UNCLE,
WILL SEND A DEPOSIT TO MAKE SURE I GET ONE,IF I SEND "FULL" AMOUNT DO I GET ONE BEFORE THAT NDN ,WAL, OR AC ??HEE!
jim

Model looks good -- handle is great looking, better finish that we'll see on the steel version. Everything looks doable. I'll get it shipped to Nepal tomorrow.

Jim, what do you want? The Rhino?

You've already got my M43 so hoodoo'd it can't get out of Nepal. Kesar probably broke his hammer on it, or one of those d$@&n Yeti customs inspectors is wearing it around the airport at Kat.

...You didn't use one of those shipping labels Tsimi says he sent to you - the ones with the funny paper that changes whatever you write on them to a dank, damp address in Florida. He IS sneaky, you know.

Gotta go set up the pup tent out by the mailbox.....snow tonight.

I would rather wait 3 or 4 months and have the kamis match the model 98% than have them make it in 2 months and hit it at 95%.
Figuring that the "Charging Rhino" is about 3 times as heavy brings the Cherokee Rose in at about 1 7/16 Lb or so. That would be just about as perfect as it could get.
Now I'm gonna be on pins and needles for the next few months. This one I think is even more exciting than the YCS was.:)

I'm afraid to say anything about a time frame. They took two months to get the Rhino done. If I tell them to hurry, they won't. If I tell them to take their time, they'll hurry. Better if I just keep my mouth shut.
