Tempting, but I already have a slightly shorter janewar katne - actually Bura's interpretation of a 30 inch Kumar Kobra with Sirupati overtones.

what about Jim?

I have my chiropractic 30" Sirupati. So heavy that when it gets swinging it pulls my back loose.

I have the same feeling.
Yesterday, I was pretty sure I would sell it.
But today I definitely feel otherwise

Selling a khukuri is like loseing a good friend.
And since it decided to go home with you it's no doubt definitely your's and especially since you have misgivings about selling it.

I think that I have the only other Durba made Janwar.

Most of the time when I buy a knife (or an AXE in this case...) I really do not think about the collectability of it. It is just something that I should add to my collection...

Granted I did grab one item just because it was a colectabile. That was the first knife that Durba made for HI. It was the piece that made me really love his work. Clean crisp lines, Incredible finish work. truly a master.

Well,

I tend to consider the Janawar much more a sword than an axe. The point of balance on an axe is much different than on the Janawar. In any case it's probably not going anywhere...

I am planning on buying a race pistol from STI here soon (probably used off of a friend knowing my budget). For the first time ever I have considered selling part of my collection, and as soon as the thought goes through my mind I kick myself. With the exception of life or death situations, I could never sell my knives. I have heard all the stories from others and I am not going to make the same mistake.

The only person that I know that has too many kuks is "The HI Researcher". I personally believe that he should pay off the morgage on his cave ( or caves, depending on which side of the ongoing debate you are on), and buy the dehumidifier that he has always wanted by selling his collection to those of us who post regularly. I know that I would like a considerable portion, and I am sure ya'll would too.
