I was just shopping for a new carving fork and it reminded me of something.
During the holidays I got invited to a family Thanksgiving dinner. It was turkey and all the fix'ns. Thankfully I was smart enough to put a carving fork and MY carving knife in the car... just in case... and (you guessed it) I was asked to carve the bird, and (you guessed it) the host's knives were ... let's just say that they were of insufficient quality and maintenance.
If there is ANY chance you are going to have to carve the bird (or prime rib, or anything else) HAVE YOUR OWN KNIVES WITH YOU.
This has been a public service announcement. Only 8 months to Thanksgiving!
Somebody bump this in November.
