Are any of you guys using one of these masks or have you ever tried one ???

I wear a canister dust mask, but I saw Paula Nicks, the inventor of this mask at a woodworking show with my dad.

It's a "more breathable" mask that can be washed.

Many woodworkers swear by them. I can't remember the micron of particulate they filter to at the moment.

There's a site www.dustbeegone.com

Curious to know what you think.

I haven't used one but it looks pretty pricey, to me. Its probably just some polyester filter bag material. But it may be more comfortable than rubber.

Why am I good enough to fix my mistakes, but not good enough to keep from making them in the first place?

I bought one at a woodworking show and like it for wood cutting/sanding and the coarser grinding. I still wear my canister respirator when buffing; especially with the green chrome! The little mask doesn't fog my glasses (which I can't work without), unless I also wear one of the clear,drop-down face shields. Then it does fog things up, while my respirator with bottom exhaust vent does not.

Ron-

That's exactly what I wanted to know, THANKS.

I know there are many times when we do something quick (sand a little of this, grind a little of that) and we should wear our masks and just don't. I thought the light weight and style of that mask might be more leading to wear it more.

That makes sense about the face shield combo causing a fog, and a canister for buffing (nasty nasty nasty).

Thanks!
Nick
