I wonder if you guys know of any resources for figuring out piping diameters for a dust collector. We have guys at 7 workstations all making dust and complaining about the volume of dust and more guys trying to come up with solutions and what-to-buy and what not. So I go and have a look into why the dust collector that I know is there and adequate isn't doing the job and find that somebody in their infinite wisdom has removed all the ducting. Basically, all there is is a 12" diameter outlet in the wall, not really anywhere near where the dust is being made.
What I need is carry the 12" diameter to about 12' then have 4 drops at that point, then another 10' - 12' with another 2 drops and then about 12' - 15' with the final drop.
I was thinking the first set of drops would reduce the main diameter to 8" then the final reduction to 6" with a 3" or 4" drop to the last workstation.
Any problems or issues anybody can think of or point me to some resources?
Thanks for any help in the matter.
