Im the proud owner of the new and the old Dutch Army SAK.

The new one it’s a special made 11cm Victorinox Centurion without a Vic logo, toothpick and tweezers. On the right side of the blade is the text ‘’DE-GM’’ and the code ‘’9305297’’ stamped. The left side shows ‘’Victorinox Switzerland’’, but no “stainless’’ like all the other Vic’s.

The older army issued SAK is a Victorinox Soldier replica made by a Dutch knife/tool company Amefa. Although it’s a replica it’s a quality product. KL 84 means that the knife is issued for the ‘Koninklijke Landmacht’ (Royal Dutch Army) in 1984.

I will later add some info about the issued and used fixed blades by the Royal Dutch Army. I don’t have enough info about it yet.

I always wondered about that silver one. It's sold for less than the standard Soldier models, but from what I can see through pictures is the same thing except for the logos. Do you have a soldier you could compare it to?

Vivi,

I dont have the normal Soldier model but i can send you a picture of the Soldier-replica next to a standard size Vic.

Update on the issued fixed blades.

After some research I found out what fixed knife is issued to the Army. It’s the M-9 Bayonet form Ontario. Although its not a great knife for outdoor, Its serves it’s duty for ‘military activities’ well. Whit the SAK a decent combo.

The M-9 is rather expensive so almost no soldier uses it on training. I hope when SHTF the know what to do whit it.

Most Dutch soldiers buy there own knifes. Most of them are a bit cheaper brands like Buck or Glock knifes and even some Ka-Bar, ColdSteel and Ontario. Whatever looks cool/tactical/solid and isn’t to expensive so a lot of replica’s. Folders are most likely to be from Gerber or other medium quality brands. But no worries there are enough knife-nuts how buy really good stuff.
