Duty Gear Snaps

I place a small round hunk of metal (snap anvil) over the male end and lightly tap with a hammer. This will spread out the male end and tighten it up. I would tap it and check fit until it is tight enough to suit you.
 
I have tightened my own cuff cases in the same method above but just using a ballpeen hammer and tapped the male snap to spead it.
