I have a Dyad Jr. "on the way" to me from a recent trade.:). I have never handled, or even seen one "in person". Can a few Dyad Jr. owners please give me their impressions of this dual folder?

I think it's going to be great to own a Spyderco folder with both a serrated, AND a plain-edge.

I have the micarta version. Its a little bit fatter as a money clip than the dragonfly or copilot because of the two blades. It feels more like a slip joint folder in my pocket. I like having the choice of plain edge and serrated blades available so I can use whatever is best for the task. Both blades are small on the jr. but I assume you have a bigger knife in the other pocket, right?

For some unknown reason, Glockman waltzes around with an itty bitty SIFU in his pocket.

I think the Dyad Jr is great. It is small in size and does everything you would expect a small knife to do. One thing though, the plainedge blade is very thin which makes it a great cutter, but it can flex if say cutting though thick cardboard.

Hey Dann,
You're going to like it! I don't know why these things aren't more popular. After you get your Jr. you'll want a large. Everybody complains they're too big and fat, (the large), but I like mine a lot. I have two Jr.'s and THREE large! I have a large in each vehicle and carry one almost every day. A blade for any purpose. One of my all time favorite Spyders.

Thanks for the positive replys so far guys! Now, I'm even more anxious to get ahold of that Dyad Jr. :).

...I keep checking the "tracking number" for that package every couple hours!.:D.

OH Gosh!! If only Spyderco would make a LEFT hand version!!! I want one REALLY bad
but know the Dyad isn't left hand friendly. DARN!

I bought one of the large Dyads as well and it is a thoroughly awesome knife!

I switched the clip to the other end so it would carry clip point down and serrated point up. Then I lubricated the heck out of it and started working kinetic openings.

When I draw the Dyad, I thumb open the clip point blade and go to strike, then I snap the knife down and open the serrated blade. Suddenly I've got a double ended knife. Just to draw and open both blades still takes a couple seconds, so it's not part of my regular carry yet. But if I can shave some time off that, it will be.

The lightweight Dyad Jr. is the first knife my wife has genuinely removed from my possession and control. I'm happy enough that she's using it that I can overlook the condition she gives it to me in for resharpening - which it takes like a champ!

Well, I received the Dyad Jr. today, and I LOVE this little folder! It IS smaller that I had expected, but it does look to be very useful with the dual razor-sharp blades, and is very easy to carry. (It fits in the "watch pocket" of my Levi jeans PERFECTLY!).:).

Another thing that I have noticed, is that it ISN'T very "Lefty-friendly" :(, but since it isn't a "tactical" folder, I don't find that to be a major problem, as I still can do the "pinch the hole and snap it" to open either of the two blades.
