I'm sort of excited for this one. I know I'll never carry it, and I'm tired of light gray G-10, but I'm still interested.
 
Received the Dyad today.
Sweet knife but was begging for a low ride pocket clip. The stock clip was sort of in the wrong position (for me) anyway.
The PE blade has a fine point that may be a bit delicate but the SE blade looks thick enough for hard use. A good combo.
Definitely a useful design that I will carry.

Me too. One of the more unique Spydercos in my collection.
It's not a hard use knife though. With one blade of your choosing open the other blade protrudes from the handle making for a less than comfortable grip.
The spines of the blades have been finished to remove the sharp edges so it's not too bad and my usual usage is generally a cut or two then back in my pocket so no issues for me but if the knife is used for extended periods there will certainly be some hot spots on an un-gloved hand.

I love my FRN Dyad, it's a great EDC and I've carried mine since I got it 8 or 9 years ago from Spyderco with a SS Dragonfly to replace my Viele/Spyderco that was discontinued and broke. Sal sent them out as replacements and they both get lots of use.

If I had the money I'd buy one... :)
 
Hell yeah! I got mine too. A great knife. Goes well with my original Mini Dyad in Micarta with the non-crossing locks. Love these knives.
 
I got one last week. The Dyad is one of my favorite knives, and I've been one of those folks begging for a sprint run of it for a long time, so I kind of had to, even if G-10 and VG-10 isn't what I was hoping for (Micarta and ZDP-189, baby!). I'm disappointed in it compared to the original, though. It's thicker and much heavier (Thanks to solid steel liners on the g-10 scales), and fit and finish isn't as good -- in particular, the SE blade sits higher when closed, so it digs into your hand more when using the PE blade. Barman1's looks to be the same way, so it's not just a fluke of my particular one.
 
I got mine for Christmas! I had one of the original ones and it was stolen. I have wanted another one ever since! Love the Dyad! Grey G10 not so much.

Congrats. Mine has yet to make it into rotation due to receiving 4-5 others since then. I really need to slow down and enjoy the knives I have. :rolleyes:
