I recently purchased a fixed blade knife with mircata scales. I would like to dye the scales a different color but there is a catch, the scales cannot be removed from the knife. Will the dye (Rit) stain or negatively impact the blade or tang (Elmax steel)?

Micarta is phenolic. I doubt it will dye at all.
