I love my Becker BK-7. The one change I would make is to have an all-black sheath instead of the olive-black one which came with the knife.

Has anybody had luck dying this kind of fabric? Would it look any good?

If the sheath contains nylon (I think it does) you won't have any luck al all. The nylon will not take the dye. If you're brave enough to try it, go and buy some RIT dye remover. You can pick it up at the grocery store. If the dye remover changes the color of the sheath (uniformly) it might take the new color as well. Just A thought.

The R.I.T. dye sold in supermarkets works on nylon. More info at www.ritdye.com ...

RIT dye will dye nylon but there are various types of nylon and coastings out there. White nylon rope dyies just fine.

What RIT is not good for is polyester and white polyester thread will remain white after a dye bath. The thread on Becker sheaths is black so you won't have to worry there.
