Is this web site dying like another knife forum on the web?

I have noticed a lot of post with very few or no response?

I was told this place use to be constantly busy.

Is the same thing happening here as it has happened on another knife web site? Is the same small group of regulars being snobbish and just keeping to themselves to where others do not want to be here?

I know at another site there was a group of the same 4 guys who answered ever post in a way that the original poster felt wrong and could not have an opinion of their own.

Here I see lots of threads going unanswered. I myself see lots of my post going unanswered or me being the last poster of the thread which make me feel as if I am being ran off.

I will say right now it makes me feel unwanted and I bet it is the same for others and maybe the reason these knife forums are dying.
 
I just looked back at some of your posts - you're a poor loser, and you threw a hissy fit...and went around deleting a bunch of posts, leaving Jeeps Rule in place of whatever was there.
Stop trying to make this about the site, and face reality.

What does deleting post have to do with anything.

You mean to say that my deleting post actually made you hate me and not want to talk to me? You must be a very shallow person. I have had people try to kill me but I have still approached them and let them know I forgive them and I still interact with them because that is how you promote a healthy culture. Hating somebody for deleting post without compassion is pure bottom of the barrel low.

As for being a poor loser I have to say the thread was a poor situation from the beginning. A day was set to be judged and no one did. Then they said it would be the next week and then the guys was too busy to judge and then one guy shouts out that somebody should be the winner and that guy won. No, I was not a sore looser but I seen a cricked giveaway and called BS.

My statements about this site looking like it is loosing people and not getting post to my threads was before the contest.

I don't believe you know what you are talking about and I hope this thread returns back to being what I originally posted instead of your detour.

I am kind of thinking that the same 4 or 5 at the other site has spent the last few years banning and running everybody off that the site died and now maybe some here feel that their way of thinking is the right way and it is slowly happening here.

Going back and deleting your posts tells anyone reading the thread "If I can't have it my way, I'll take my ball and go home!" Why should anyone bother replying to someone with that attitude? They clearly aren't looking for discussion, only validation of their own opinion. If by "Is this web site dying" you actually mean "are people here ignoring me", then I'd say the answer is probably "Yes".
 
Threads have a life of their own and may not go in the direction you would like. Learn to accept where the discussion goes and you will have a better experience. In all forums that I have been involved in, deleeting large quantities of your posts is a way to loose respect and for others to loose interest in what you have to say.
 
Sounds like you're just suffering from a case of butt-hurt. Read more, get a feel for the community and don't start threads like this. If you must you can start them in W&C and they will be happy to "discuss" your topic.
 
To the question - "is this website dying?", I would say, "no." Often times, perception and reality are askew of one another - by which I mean that your perception may not match reality (I don't mean you in particular, but any "you"). In any case, this is much like any large group of people - there are smart asses, serious people, someone having a bad day. The difference is the medium. It lacks tone.
In any one sub forum you will find there are regulars and they may be a little snarky at times. Try not to take it personally.
Past the snarkiness, you'll find helpful, knowledgeable people.
 
Website dying? Not yet that I can see from where I sit. If you have an issue with someone or something let the mods know and we can look into it. The thing about giveaways is a bit complicated, and ultimately it is the "givers" choice how to conduct their giveaway, so long as it falls within the posted rules, all 247, 812 of them yes. Are the prices of apples dying compared to that of oranges? It's hard to say.

When you go back and delete or otherwise edit stream of posts made, it tends to speak a bit to the way a person might have been feeling while posting. Drunk, high, both, angry, depressed, in mid-meltdown, or similar is a sign that something was going during that time frame and it might not have been a well thought out strategy from the beginning. Having duplicate accounts is also not a good idea, which you already know about. So, if you need to get something off your chest, come right out and say it. Beating around the bush is a bit of a time waster I'd say. As for feeling that you are being "run off", not sure how you get that idea. If you can participate without being scandalous or have ADD/OCD about things then it might just be your imagination.

I have read elsewhere that Bladeforums.com is in the 28,000 most used web sites. Are we maintaining that number.

To clear up why I delete my stuff has nothing to do with being a bad loser and I have no hate to the company who did the giveaway.

I am being investigated for being a right winger and the FBI had recently been to my house to question me. I figured they would eventually be looking at my computer if they all ready had not. I deleted all my post at most all sights I go to, not just here. I also deleted my Facebook and will never get another. I am eventually going to replace my post but it will take time.

Well now. I know a second account of yours got banned recently, but this story sounds awfully familiar. You were here before being Jeepster, weren't you? We have heard this FBI story of yours before.

You heard it under this name but it was deleted. I believe I even had some kid yelling at how right wingers are wrong and should be outlawed.

I like post like this. It help me realize what others are like.

I noticed most post here are from Gold Members.

Do you guys just wait for somebody to post something that makes them vulnerable and then you pounce on them? Is that your power play?

I once had a guy who robbed my house, tried to kill me with a knife and caused me and my girlfriend to break up but when I see him in town I tell him we all make mistakes and that I enjoy hanging with him. Maybe that is the action of people in a civilized world and not the action of people hiding in a forum but I hope to set an example.

Mistakes are made (not that I have made any but some perceive that I have) but lets forget them and move on in a positive manor.

That or be hate fill predators and devour all you like. I have lots of house choirs to do plus rebuild my bike during this winter. I just log on here to take breaks from daily life. One less person here should not make a difference, at least that's the way it is on a different forum.
 
Must be doing something wrong somewhere. I'm brand new here and have received nothing but a pleasant experience being among other enthusiasts/nuts. I have had long time users go out of their way to save me hundreds of dollars, I've learned things, I feel like I helped some and overall just a sweet @ss place to be. Ramble ramble ramble. On the other hand it's the Internet and it's full of faceless users so getting butt hurt here or other corners of the interweb is kind of meaningless, why waste your energy on the -?
