I know Dylan posted pictures of the knife he recently made for me, but it is time for me to do so as well. If you recall, it was a Bush Operator, and featured ivory paper micarta scales with natural micarta pins. Its a beautiful knife.

I spent the last weeks playing with it in front of the TV and just studying it like I do all my knives from other makers. Right away I knew I liked it, the design is a good one. But after really looking at it, I thought it appropriate to tell everyone that Dylan has officially made that knife as good as I could have. I can't see any area on it that I could have done any better.

In addition, the design is top notch also. You've all seen Dylan's drawings. Mine are line drawings that look childish compared to his beautifully drawn pictures of knives. Dylan is an artist that has found knives, whereas I am a knife guy that has an eye for shapes. His designs are very well thought out, and his handles are comfortable.

We got to take the knife out for a little hike with my daughter. Dylan made a thread and posted all the damn pics. The knife cut well, batonned well, and the handle was very comfortable.

You can see it here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=825017

Here are some more pics I took this morning. You can see the knife survived testing very well, and you can see the sheath I made for it.

IMO, it is silly to call Dyaln an apprentice anymore. He is a knifemaker in his own right. Its been really neat watching his skills progress. His designs are great, and he is definitely on his way! I'm glad to call him friend, honored really. Thanks for the knife bro. Great work.

right on Andy... that is a beauty of a knife and probably one of my most favorite designs i have seen in a long time..:) hence the reason i had to order one..:D
it has been great to see Dylan excel at knifemaking so quickly... must be a cool for you too..

Right on brother, your words are those of a poet. Give it hell Dylan and congratulations. I had two of your knives with me all weekend while camping and i put complete faith in them and they never failed me. Knives are my life and i trust yours through and through.

That is a great looking Blade and I am happy for the man who made it..I wish I only had some of the skills it takes to make a fine blade..Just another knife I will have to add to the rest !!

Thanks Andy. This means a lot bro. (I hope he doesn't mean I've graduated right out of his shop. LOL.) and thanks to everyone else for the compliments and kind words.

Time for a Celebration - Johnny's Hideaway Style!

Hell yes. That's what I'm talkin bout!

It's really cool to know a man that's both hungry and focused. Rock on Brother!

Congrats! You have earned it.

Yea. He's hungry for sure. With that fufu diet he's on. Haha.

yeah yeah. Hey bitch, that diet is working. It's a good thing I'm doing it. I just found out from Sarah, not only are we making the trip to Florida that apparently I agreed to yet have no memory of discussing, but we will also be attending a big fish fry whilst we're there. I'm sure that'll get me a good 10 pounds. lol Sure will be fun though. My prediction... :barf: It's hard eating that kind of stuff when you haven't had anything like that for months and months. It's a horryfing, yet delicious shock to the digestive system.

Dylan, I don't own one of your knives as of yet, but I have been keeping an eye on your progress. When things pick up for me personally, I am looking forward to getting a Fletcher blade. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I look forward to taken more of your money! YAY!!!! lol.
