Dymondwood coating?

Does Buck use any coating on the Dymondwood handles as a protectant/preservative? Would mineral oil be a good option for cleaning off tougher residues?

My impression for Dymondwood is that the thin veneers are saturated with epoxy and that there is no other coating—because of that the surface is pretty resistant to everything. If there is some surface residue, scrubbing with some sort of microfiber might clean it—scrubbing with soap and water might be a good start, combined with polishing. I don't think adding another layer of finish will accomplish a whole lot.

Thank you!

Yep, it's resin impregnated.

Thought I could put my initials in mine with a wood burner as a teenager, but that was a no-go and I had to result to using a Dremel.

It's some real tough stuff.

Now for future reference, mineral oil evaporates and may not be the best choice as a wood preservative.
Danish oil or boiled linseed oil are great preservatives.
