OK... This might sound stupid but does anyone have a good source for bulk dymondwood or pakkawood for handle material??? 1/4" or 3/8" thick...

:D You shouldn't apologize for what you need to use! There are good applications for Pakkawood. It just got a bad rap because it's been used on so many crappy knives, in such garish ways. I have a 48" long by 1.5" dia black rod of the stuff that I'm going to use to make a short spear out of one of these days. I defy anyone to call me on it! :D I got if from TKS too. ;) I'd like to see what you do with it.

Dave,
sorry about the sarcasm.

You're right about the crappy knives thing. I can't help think about those every time someone mentions the stuff. Hell...I tried it too 20 years ago. I believe my first finished knife had winewood scales.

I ran into a guy a couple towns over years ago who made custon billy clubs for the local p.d. They looked sharp in black/blue (fitting colors), black/yellow and black/red.

What a great idea! I love the Black and Blue, truly fitting colors. :D

Edit: Thanks for the link Jim, that's some good reading. I see they make dowels as small as 1/8", and in every size up to 2". I may find a better dia rod for my project there.
