I found this in the back of my garage. I did not buy it and I don't know anything about it. Can you help me out?

I was thinking of putting a handle on it and using it. I thought I would knock bark off of some of my cut wood and maybe square it up.

What should the handle look like and how long would it be? I think straight. Any idea on where to get a handle for it?

So I can't seem to post a picture.

The broad hatchet head has on the blade

ST. LOUIS
USA SYMBOL
All of the above is incased in a square box around the wording.

E.C. Simmons had very long working relationship with Isaiah Blood before and after IB joined AA&Tco. The look and bi-metal construction makes me think, those hatchets were made by AA&Tco

The one with the 4 in the circle is the one I have, What size handle should I put on it?
The blade is a little over 4 1/4 inches wide. And the head weights 1.624 pounds.
