E-Commerce Section Expanded

I've added another umpteen hundred product lines to the "Zapship" pages at www.chaicutlery-storefront.com where stuff is shipped directly from my distributor. Several brands of knives not previously mentioned, the whole humongous Forschner kitchen knife catalog, and a bunch of flashlights, among other things.

I see today that fresh descriptions have uploaded now, and images should follow in due course.

Technical support tells me that they're working on having "in stock" information appear on screen, but so for it doesn't.

If you find glitches, yell. I'm sure there are some.

After much gnome-work with my distributor's web site and some .csv files in MS-Exel, the Chai Cutlery e-commerce section now lists 3,153 different products and variants, which I couldn't possible handle or store without that "Zapship" program that Moteng offers, where stuff goes directly from their warehouse.

Lots of knives I haven't had a chance to handle or write my own ad copy for yet.

Among other things, the whole huge Forschner-Victorinox kitchen cutlery catalog, with some 60 or so boning knives alone!

And many useful things that aren't knives but are "Gadgets and Gear." Windmill Lighters, GPS, watches, lots and lots of flashlights, etcetera, etcetera.

The catalog there is in some sort of catywampus order that their computer creates, disregarding my best efforts to feed it the data in my idea of logical sequence. And real-time "in-stock" information is still "under construction," so I get to keep bugging Technical Support.

If you brouse around there and you find a glitch, let me know, and I can drop something useful like a pocket sharpener into the mail.

If you see some place where I thought I was competitive, but I'm really way the hell overpriced, yell, and I'll look at that item or section again. And if you see a price tag where you figure out that I was up too late, and I'm robbing myself, buy the thing (unless it's a 3-digit typo!!) and tell me before you tell your friends.

And images have been loaded for most items now. Varying quality, depending on what the distributor got from the factories. I like my own scans better, but I'm not about to buy one-each and scan 3000+ items!!!

The catalog categories are still in catywampus order, which is one of the issues they're taking up with Orbit Commerce, who's writing the software, and who still ain't quite up to Amazon.com's state of the art, and neither am I. On the other hand, I make a profit when I sell a knife, and we know about Amazon.com's bottom line!

And if you check out the watch section, you may find that I'm one of the few places on the Net that, after I did a "search and replace" on the database provided to me, does not call one of their lines interchangeably "Cavalry" and "Calvary."
