Here's a 6 inch modified Turkish twist skinner, with a Spanish notch, as per custom request. The Pre-ban Bark Elephant Ivory handle matches an earlier Bowie done for the same client.

Guard and collar are matching damascus, and the multi-piece handle frame and the spacers carry file-work accents.

I'll let Paul describe the Paul Long sheath.

Quote : This is probably the most exotic sheath I have ever made.

The basis of the sheath is made from the leather taken from the left hip of a Siberian Yak tanned by Sherpa women using the age old tanning formula made from fresh chewed tobacco juice and Hummingbird pee. The humming bird part is by far the most labor intensive because they have trouble hitting the little cup.

The overlay is made of Lithuanian Midget Ostrich knee, and the inlay is Eastern Ethiopian Elephant taken just behind the scrotum.

I hope you are appreciative of the extra effort it took to assemble all the exotic materials for you sheath ,and further I hope ----- really knows what he has.

Thanks again for your continuing support!!!" Un-quote

You see what I have to put up with!

THAT's a handsome package! The twist damascus is really set off by that bark ivory--great look.

Love the mid-ride sheath design. The exotic hide descriptions are very educational--thanks, Paul...never knew there was a midget species of the Lithuanian ostrich, and just to think there's that much room betweeen the scrotum of an elephant and, well ... :o

Very nice, VERY nice!

Spectacular damscus, beautiful ivory.

Kind regards,

Jos

If the piece of elephant "leather" is too small, you just buff it a bit and.................:D But seriously, very nice work, guys.

Joe, I didn't get too technical with my description, but based on your comment I see you are informed beyond "average". The area the Elephant skin was taken from is technically called TAINT.

...and he who barse his taint to the bifkin or the bonch may find his durf, gooch and grundle reflected in the perineum nifkin.

(Sorry--sometimes I miss Vampire Gerbil. Rest easy, Dave. :))
