Has anyone tried one of the 2 new CRKT Elishewitz knives that use the E-lock? I'm interested but wonder about the possibility of accidentally unlocking the knife by gripping the handle too hard - although the Starlight has a flipper to protect against the knife actually closing on your fingers if the lock is released, but still . . . anyone given any of these knives a workout?

I've been waiting for the black handle PE e-lock for months. Kinda wondering the same thing about the lockbar, but there seems to be a recess in the scale, like an auto button has for added safety.

back up there, SOMEONE must have at least handled these, right? The new Starlight looks awesome, like an arty mini-AFCK w/a flipper, but I'd like t hear more about that lock system. Has anyone owned/handled the custom versions?

I handled one of these (Starlight) the other day and it's a very well built folder. It opens smoothly with either the flipper or the stud and seems pretty sturdy.

With that said, I'm also a little wary of the lock. It is really easy to disengage (it doesn't take much pressure at all to disengage). It does depend on how you hold the knife, though. There are a couple of ways that I hold it that has the base of my thumb resting right around the lock and there are a couple of grips where I don't touch the lock. I don't think that it will be a problem for regular use, but I'd be a little cautious. I'm still thinking of getting one because it is a nice knife, but I'll be keeping my eye on the lock during use.

I didn't handle the other E-lock, although I did see it at the store.
