E-mail address question

I've been considering a switch to Verizon for my ISP, which likely means my e-mail address will change to a "verizon.net" extension. From what I've read that will not work here as a valid e-mail address. Will I have to set up another e-mail account with someplace like Yahoo! (that I will otherwise never use), or will the fact that I have the "no email notification" option selected for subscribed threads make this unnecessary?

As far as I know it should work. The only email addresses that won't work for registration are Hotmail or Yahoo. If you change your email address you need to update it in your profile so you can receive emails from subscribed threads. I believe you will recieve an email from BFC asking you to verify and then you should be good to go. It's been a while since I updated mine so I forgot how it works.

Where did you read that verizon.net won't work?

Really? I registered here with a Yahoo email address and it worked fine. I've also gotten several emails from Cougar that worked fine.

Oh, and in my User CP, under email, it says in big, bold letters:
Verizon.net will not work!!!!!

Verizon email addresses WILL NOT WORK. We can't do anything about that because it's their problem not ours.

Yes, you'll have to open another account at yahoo or somewhere. You can complain to Verizon....

Wow! I really got that one screwed up! It's the other way around. Geez...see what happens when I don't have my coffee in the morning? My brain gets stuck on stupid. :o Sorry for the misinformation guys. :o

Somebody reading this thread might not have had his coffee yet either so let's make it clear enough for the caffeine-deprived:

HOTMAIL & VERIZON EMAIL = BAD :thumbdn:

YAHOO & ANYTHING ELSE = GOOD  :)
