E.Tenn.Forumites

[This Tuesday at 1800 at Guncraft Sports then to Crenshaw house. Go down-thread to get more details]

To all of the other Forumites in East Tennessee I'd like to extend an invitation to get together this holiday season. If interested e-mail me at mikecrenshaw@netscape.net. Just let me know what would be a good day and time for sometime during the next couple of weeks and and we just might be able to work something out.

Take care,

Mike

P.S.- You don't have to be in ET to come.

Wish I had gotten into knife making before I moved from Knoxville!! You guys have some big time makers living near you. Look in any of the annual Knives books under Tennessee and you'll be suprised.

Farragut here. Maybe lunch sometime betwen Christmas and New Year. I'll try to make whatever date is chosen.

I will be in E. Tenn but only for a very few days. Still glad to see that there are forumites in the area!

Have a good holiday!

I welcome a get together. I had no idea that there were other forumites in east Tennessee, much less Knoxville. Sometime between Christmas and new years will probably be OK with me also. I am off on the 27, 28, 29, and 30. Just let me know when and where.

Ok, ya'll.

What about sometime the week after Christmass? I'll kinda have off (I'll be on the lap-top leash) and lunch would be great.
Clay, would a trip to "the big city" be in your schedule that week? I could break out the sigle malt and we could all swap lies.

Jumbi, which sleazy Oak Ridge consulting firm are you working for? I'm SAIC, aka Saturdays Are Included Chump!

E-mail me and I'll give out my telephone number.

Take care,

Mike

It sure would be great if you could join us Clay.

I would love to be a consultant some day. The consultants we have at work make big $$$. I can't really figure out what they do. We have a saying at work its kind of like "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. And those who can't teach, consult."

hso: I have my own "sleazy" (LOL)

firm, located in Farragut. And even tho I'm the boss I still put in a lot of Saturdays. The grass in't any greener on this side of the fence :-)

shootist16: Hard to put what a consultant does in just a few words. Maybe this will help: People hire me to tell them the time, and I borrow their watch. In other words, people who know how to do it but for whatever reason, legit-non-legit, hire consultants.

Hope I get to meet you guys

Ok boys, here it is.

Dec. 28 afternoon or evening. If afternoon we're looking at cigars and single malt and cutlery, if evening say steaks and brew and cutlery. Gee, sounds like a trend.

Dennis/Jumbi-consulting is when the client doesn't know enough to fix the problem but has this vague uneasy feeling that something is wrong and needs fixing. Something like when the Proto-humans found the obelisk.

See ya'll on Tuesday.

Mike

Mikie,
Put the AL MAR training knives AWAY before indulging in the single malt or brew.

I have to admit I am really looking forward to this. It has been a long time since I have associated with someone outside work. I really need to make some new friends.

And I seriously would like to be a consultant one day. Or maybe some consulting on the side now. I am constantly working on improving my credentials.

Guys . . . I'm gonna' try to join you on December 28 . . . depends on when the daughter and her family from Memphis arrive/leave for the Christmas holidays.

Dennis . . . any good knife shops in the Knoxville area? I'm aware of the large outlet just off I-40 on the way to Sevierville and the "Acorn" in Gatlinburg. Would appreciate being advised of any others.
regards . . .

Ralphtt - check out Greene Military. They are on Kingston Pike in Knoxville just east of West Town mall. They keep the complete Benchmade line, usually get pre-prod runs from BM, and have quite a few Spydie's as well.

SAIC - I was there for 8 years. At TVA now, and much happier!

Where is the get together going to be?

Any word on exactly when and where. I am off that day so anytime should be fine, provided I can find a babysitter.

Here's the schedule -

Meet at Guncraft Sports at 1800 hrs.

Motor over to my place, open a few brews and begin to swap lies.

Burn or barely warm various pieces of meat on the grill. While dodging the dogs, playing with the Monkey Baby (daughter) and recounting the wife's experiences in Bob Taylor's Hobbit Warrior class.

Continue to swap lies and compare cutlery while insisting that we left the best stuff at home. (I'll insist I left the best stuff somewhere else.)

Go away with some new pals.

e-mail me at mikecrenshaw@netscape.net for my telephone number.

Guncraft is at 10737 Dutchtown Road (off of Lovel Road on the north side of I-40/75), Knoxville, TN check mapquest.com for appropriate map

Take care,

Mike

Don't believe a thing that Lombardo says (he's a transplanted Yankee) and embittered that I won't let him date my 17 month old daughter!
