I also posted this in the General Forum. I have this neigbor who has a fillet knife with E. Warther & Son marked on the blade. He asked me if id ever heard about him, and then proceeded to tell me all this stuff about how great it was. Anyway, ive never heard of Warther, but i thought maby one of you guys had?

I use Warther cutlery in my kitchen. It is great stuff, not fancy but good steel. One unique feature of it is the engine turned finish on the blades.

E. Warther was arguably the best wood carver ever. His works are in museums all over the world. His carving of the Lincoln funeral train, right down to Abe in his casket in one of the cars, is absolutely amazing. The cutlery business began because he couldn't buy knives he liked for carving so he made his own.

His sons or grandsons run the business today. They are in Dover, Ohio.
