fella's,
When they say the E2 has a runtime of 75 minutes what is meant by this? Is that meant for the 15 lumen bulb or the 60 lumen bulb?
I am trying to do all my homework on this light and also need to know which batteries to run. After reading some stuff on Brocks website I believe I will use sanyo's or cheaper batteries. They lasted only 15% less than very expensive duracells and I wouldn't mind changing them a little more often considering the difference in price. (substantial) Any info on length of time on one set of batteries and anything else i could use. thanks guys

The 75 minute runtime is for the 60 lumen bulb. The lower-lumen bulb isn't even available yet, to my knowledge.

I've found that the difference between brands is only really noticeable with the high output lamps and the 3+ cell flashlights - Especially the 12PM and M6.

I'd just like to add that from my experience with SureFire, when they quote a runtime, they mean you get quality bright white light for the whole of the runtime. This is mostly due to the Lithium Batteries, but the runtimes are honest.
It should also be pointed out that you'll use SureFires differently from other flashlight brands. Because the beam is so good, and the light so pure, you'll use it more briefly and use the momentary switch rather than constant on.
I think this is because the Surround beam is so good. The pure white light allows you to take in what you're aiming at and also quite a bit of the surroundings too. This requires less panning and shorter on-times.

The advantages of this include longer runtimes, and higher peak beam, preserved for longer.

(This is how I use my SureFires? Do you use a similar technique?)

I used my new E2 (thanks David) for a plant inventory at Getrag yesterday. Man, that thing lit up the insides of the CNC machines like it was daytime! I loved the E1, but the E2 is awesome! I was there most of a day (intermittent use) and the batteries are still going strong.

I am mailing my check this weekend for an E2 and 2 replacement bulbs. I always have to order replacements when I get a new flashlight. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about!! With any luck I'll have it in hand April 2 or so. Wish I had a credit card. (not) thanks guys
P.S. How can I go wrong, Right?
